Japanese WWII NCO's Issue Katana

Japanese WWII NCO\'s Issue Katana

Japanese WWII NCO's Issue Katana.

Matching serial number "87639" to the blade and scabbard. There is also a small factory stamp to the blade. The "Tsuka" is all blackened metal. The painted metal sword handle has a tight fit. The Tsuba is nice and still have most of it´s original paint to it.

The blade show only minor runners, wears and schratching. The blade must rate as very good condition and is sharpened. Total lenght of sword/katana and scabbard is about 97cm, lenght of blade is about 70cm.

All exterior parts shows Heavy signs of use with a light Surface rust to the scabbard. The handle retains about 40% of the original Brown colors. The scabbard retains about 35% of the original olive green paint. Handle locking mechanism works perfectly and the blade slides effortless in the scabbard. Overall a well used example with clear signs of use and age. No parts missing and number matching.

Salty combat veteran!!
