Luftwaffe Flak Artillery Badge, C.E.Juncker, Transitional Patter

Luftwaffe Flak Artillery Badge, C.E.Juncker, Transitional Patter

Luftwaffe Flak Artillery Badge, C.E.Juncker, Transitional Pattern.

Two piece tombak construction partially scoop backed badge with a silver vertically oval oak-leaf wreath with a separate, Luftwaffe style eagle clutching a canted, swastika in it’s talons affixed to the top center by soldering. The wreath encompasses the profile of an 88mm anti-aircraft gun with the gun barrel extending beyond the edge of the wreath. The badge features nice detailing including cut-outs to the swastika’s arms and feathering to the eagle’s wings and tail.

The reverse of the badge has subtle scooped depressions to the gun and the eagle’s wings. The reverse also has a soldered hinge and a thin round vertical pin and a soldered catch on a rektangular base soldered in place. Typickal Juncker markes for positioning of the hinge are in Place. The badge is clearly makermarked with " C.E.Juncker, Berlin SW". Some moron has scratched the back of the badge to see what material it was made of, nothing to bad though.

This is a hybrid from the new die using the new eagle but retaining the first pattern wreath, quite rare badge!

Except for the scratches it is in Close to mint condition!!
