Signal Oberleutnant\'s Geschönte Field Tunic

Signal Oberleutnant's Geschönte Field Tunic

Private purchase early style "Geschönte feldbluse" for an Oberleutnant serving in Signal rgt 40. Four pocket tunic Made of fine field-grey colored cloth. Rigid green collar with collar tabs made of Bright silver/bullion on lemon yellow badge cloth. Shoulder boards is made of Bright silver aluminum on yellow wool cloth with one gold washed rank pip and unit numbers "40" pinned in Place. To the right breast pocket is a Heer officers breast eagle neatly hand sewn in Place. The eagle match the tunic perfectly in age but is possibly replaced. To the left breast pocket is loops for an Iron Cross 1'st class with clasp and a long ribbon / medal bar.

The tunic is lined with green/grey colored rayon cloth and pyama striped rayon cloth in sleeves. A tailors label is sewn to the inside neck.

The tunic shows clear signs of use and age especially to the exposed cloth, which is what we usually see on earlier Walking out / parade tunics. Inside shows only light signs of use. The piping to the lapels and arround the collar has faded to all exposed parts. All in all a rather well preserved and well used "geschönte" field / Walking out tunic. Not so easy to find in signal branch of service!.

Large sized tunic which will fit over Close to any manequin!
