Heer Signal EM's Issue M44 Combat Tunic

Waist length M44 tunic made of field-grey with a hint of Brown combat cloth. The brownish tone comes from old recycled captured russian cloth. Six button front closure, small fold back lapels and a lay down collar. The field blouse has two non-pleated, patch breast pockets with straight edged button down flaps. The right breast has a M44 pattern, machine woven national eagle in dull grey threads on woven, field-grey rayon base. The breast insignia is machine sewn in Place, through the lining which is what we often see from M44 tunics. To the shoulder's is a pair of slip-on "M44" pattern shoulder straps with lemon yellow rayon piping. The collar, general issue EM/NCO’s collar tabs for wear by all branches of service. The collar tabs are machine stitched directly to the collar with no backing material.

The interior breast panels are partially lined in very late war brushed grey colored cotton. The lining also has straps with four stitched eyelets to each positioned at each side panel just beneath the armpits, designed to secure the belt support hooks. Hooks still intact. Really interesting to see one of the straps is made of the same lining material as the rest of the tunic and the other one is made of Heer "sumpftarn" camouflage cloth. Both straps is factory applied to the tunic, which shows the lack of material the Germans suffered from in the end of WWII. Inside right hand panel shows a very faint maker mark and the usual size markings.

The tunic is in good used condition with Heavy nap wear to all exposed parts. Inside shows signs of light use with signs of wear to the inside collar, armpits area end of sleeves etc etc.

Most likely produced at the end of 1944 or early 1945 with factory sewn insignias!!
