Gendarmerie Meister's Mid War HBT Combat Tunic



Mid-war circa 1943 produced combat tunic. Made of reed green HBT cotton. Six button front closure with a single metal hook and eye positioned at the neckline. The tunic has four pleated front pockets with scalloped edged button flaps. Lay down collar with the typical zig-zag reinforcement stitching to the reverse. The side panels have Three machine stitched eyelets at the waistline for the belt support hooks. Straight cut sleeve cuffs have a with a singel fit adjustment button to each. The shoulder straps fabric retaining loops and pebbled buttons are intact. Slipped in Place to each shoulder is a second pattern slip on shoulder strap made of silver/aluminum Russian braid with interwoven brown "V"s  mounted on a orange rayon base. The shoulder boards represent rank of Meister serving with the Gendarmerie. To the left upper sleeve is a 1941 pattern, machine embroidered gendarmerie eagle in orange rayon threads on police green cloth. The eagle is machine sewn to the sleeve in the correct period fashion. The left breast pocket has a set of Award loops sewn for one Award.


Unlined interior with mouse-grey brushed cotton reinforcement panels to each side panel and around the armpits. Field dressing pocket positioned to the inside right lapel, with a single button closure made of the same mouse-grey cotton. The tunic is nicely size and Rbnr number marked.


The tunic is in good still used condition. Outside shows stains and dirt from use and possibly bad storage. No holes, rips or mendings! The insignias match perfectly and are period applied.
