Heer Late War EM/NCO's M43 Field Cap
Heer Late War EM/NCO’s M43 Field Cap
The cap is constructed of field-grey combat cloth with a machine embroidered M44 national eagle & cockade machine sewn to the front. Turn-down side panels are buttoned in place with two pebbled metal buttons to the front. Outside shows signs of age and use with some soiling the cap also has a fat greasy feeling when handling it. Inside is fully lined with ribbed satin cloth. This type of lining is often seen in cap’s manufactured for the Reich but produced in Italy. The lining has a very faint RBnr / size / year of production stamp. Unfortunately is the stamp so faint making it close to possible to read. The lining shows signs of use with dirt, sweat and old hair products especially to all exposed parts. No holes, rips or mendings.
Pretty scarce to find a M43 cap manufactured as late as this one with M44 insignia!!
