Heer Officer's M43 Field Cap
Private purchase field-grey wool tricot construction cap. Fold down back and side panels with two pebbled, silver washed buttons to the front center. The top crown edge is piped in bright silver/aluminum braiding. The front center of the cap has a bullion national eagle and a separate national tri-color cockade both neatly hand sewn in place. Liner is nicely maker marked “Wilhelm Welhausen, Hannover Kassel”. A small portion of the sweat shield is still intact (rare to find sweatshield diamonds on a m43 field cap!). The cap has a internal reinforcement to the inside edges which gives a great shape to the cap. Also a seldom seen feature this private tailor used. The cap is in very good but still used condition. The insignias match the cap perfectly with a nice age patina and is original to the cap. Outside with light color fading and inside with light sweat, grease patina. Size is about 56,5 – 57.
Interesting, later war, private purchase cap M43 Field Cap in good used condition!!
