First Pattern SS-VT, SS-TV, Fieldgrey Sidecap

Cap is constructed of field-grey combat cloth and is in unissued condition. Outside it has a skull button to front turn up flap. Skull button is unmarked as we can see. At side it has a black triangular wool patch with a SS eagle woven in white thread.  Furthermore we find on each side of the cap ventilation eylets painted field-grey with the correct size and crimping.

Inside the cap has the typical grey drill lining of the period. Cap is well marked with maker “Robert Lubstein, Berln 1939″ (EREL) it has a depot stamp E for the Erführt depot and a size stam”52”. Cap is very small and hence never have been used. It is a late manufactured one for this type.

However, it is close to impossible to get hold of a mint cap of this type, for the discerning collector who has almost everything!!
