Führerhauptquartier Cufftitle
€1,695.00
The Führerhauptquartier, (Führer Headquarters) cufftitle was originally introduced prior to the outbreak of WWII and was intended for wear by personnel who served in the Führerbegleitbataillon (Führer Escort Battalion) at Hitler’s assorted headquarters. Hitler had ten headquarters during the war. Personnel serving with the Führerbegleitbataillon were specially selected from elite units. Originally the Führerhauptquartier cufftitle was manufactured with a black base and golden yellow Gothic script until regulations of January 15th 1941 introduced a second pattern with silver Sütterlin style script. The second pattern cufftitle was utilized for the duration of the war.
Black wool construction, second pattern cufftitle with hand embroidered Sütterlin style script, “Führerhauptquartier” in bright, silver/aluminum wire threads. The cufftitle is bordered at both the top and bottom edges in a bright silver/aluminum Russian braid. The reverse of the cufftitle is handstitched seam to the center. The cufftitle was removed from a tunic and shows signs of light wear with a couple of small holes to the center (hardly noticable). The ends shows damage and soiling. The former owner told us the cufftitle was removed from a killed and still burning german soldier. And was directly bought from the vet who removed the cufftitle. We have no proffs whatsoever to confirm this. But the damage to the cuff ends seems plausible compared to the story. Length is about 40cm.
Very scarce cufftitle which for sure has “been there”!!
