Heer Artillery Officer's Side cap

The cap is produced of boiled wool with golden yellow rayon lining. To the front there is an officers BEVO flatwire eagle on dark green backing hand sewn in place. On front of fold-down there is a Red soutache and a Officers Bullion cockade, also hand sewn in place. The soutache is hand sewn in place and shows heavy wear. Officers silver litz to crown as well as to front flap. The cap is produced without vent holes.

Cap is in well used condition and show colour fading to exposed parts as well as nap wear. Officers litz shows light oxidation and even wear. Inside cap are showing wear with fading of lining colour, dirt and sweat stains.

Interesting lower quality cap, either late war production but could also be a cheaper production to use in front line conditions!!
