Heer DAK Artillery EM/NCO´s Tropical Side Cap

Ribbed olive/khaki cotton twill construction cap. The cap has oxidized metal alloy ventilation grommet to both sides situated just below the crown edge. The top center seam is correctly stitched right through the interior liner, for added strength.

The front center of the cap has a Bevo machine woven national eagle in light blue/grey cotton threads. The front center of the fold down panels has a Bevo machine woven cockade in black, white and red cotton threads. Both the eagle and the cockade are original stitched to the cap. The tri-color cockade is flanked by an inverted “V” red rayon branch of service soutache used by Artillery units. The soutache has been applied in the correct manner, being machine stitched in place and inserted through two small puncture holes near the bottom edge of the cap.

The interior of the cap is fully lined in light weight red cotton. The lining is well marked inside a square with size, depot, year and maker markings in black ink. Size marked “55”.

Cap is little worn and show slight wear and sunfading on outside as well as little wear and dirt on the inside.

Nice EM/NCo´s cap in Very Good untouched condition.
