Heer Pioneer Oberleutnant's Issue M40 Combat Tunic
Issue M40 tunic with added bottle green collar. Constructed of field-grey cloth with five button front closure. Four pleated patch front pockets with scalloped button down flaps. Hans sewn to the collar is a pair of Heer officer’s collar tabs with black center stripes. To the shoulder’s is a pair of matching sew-on shoulder boards made of Russian braid with one gilt rank pip, all on black wool backing. Above the right breast pocket is a Officer’s style breast eagle hand sewn in place. Sewn to the left breast pocket is Award loops for one award. Inside is fully lined with correct mouse grey brushed cotton. The inner right lapel has size stamps still visable as well as year of production “41” for 1941. The tunic is shortened, one button hole still visable to the front side and the medic pocket was removed. The tunic was also sewn in a bit for better fit.
The tunic shows heavy signs of real use. All nap is completely worn off to all exposed parts. Button holes shows fraying, the collar has a couple of minor mendings and a wear hole. Outside is relatively clean with no rips, holes or mendings.
All insignias match very well in condition.
