Iron Cross First Class 1914 With Case of Issue

The cross is a three piece construction with Iron core and silvered frames. The cross has a very nice convex shape for bitter fit when worn on a tunic. Hinge, pin and catch all intact to the reverse. The cross is in very good condition with aprox 98% of the original black paint intact to the core.

 

The cross comes housed in its original case of issue. The case is made of wood and pressed cardboard with a simulated black grained leather covering. The top of the case has an impressed, silvered likeness of the award to the center. The fold back top lid has a closure button to the obverse. The interior of the case has a purple flocking covering to the bottom with a slotted recess to secure the award in place and the interior top lid has a white satin lining. The case is in very good condition.

 

Perfect matching set which will be very hard to upgrade!!
