Japanese Army Officer's Summer Wool Field Cap in Excellent Worn Condition
Japanese Army Officer’s Summer Wool Field Cap in Excellent Worn Condition
A textbook army officer’s wool field cap in slightly worn condition. It is made of light summer wool in typical
wartime olive drab color. It is complete with a silk lining, an artificial leather sweat band, and a full undamaged
chinstrap. It has a standard woolen army star patch beautifully machine-sewn on the front. However, like most worn
caps, this one shows some superficial scuffs, or minor loss of the coating, on the ersatz leather sweat band. The silk
lining has some tiny holes and numerous wrinkles. The air-vent grommets on both sides and the rear grommets for a
size-adjustment string are lightly rusted but still firmly fixed on the wool fabric. There is a small tear (less than
1cm long) in the wool fabric on the right front above the bill of the cap but it is located behind the chinstrap and is not
really visible. There are very minor, light moth damage on the wool but overall, it is a very nice attractive cap with
a moderate wear and a great combat look. The size is medium (56cm-57cm).
A complete textbook example is rare. Do not miss!!
