Japanese WWII Army ‘Private First-Class’ Tropical Tunic in Heavily-Worn Condition
A cotton-made “Type 3” combat tunic with original “Private First-Class” collar tabs still attached to the collar. This tunic is a so-called “tropical” one with an air ventilating hole and flap on both sides. This type of tunic was intended to be worn in summer time or in tropical regions. The quartermaster stamp shows the tunic is made in 1944. This tunic is heavily worn and the inside of the collar and the cuffs are heavily damaged. However, the tunic was washed and clean. The removal of the sewn-in sword hanger indicate that the veteran must worn it after the war. The original “Private First-Class” collar tabs appears to be sewn postwar, but correctly applied.
Heavily used combat tunic!!
