Japanese WWII Unit Marked and Named Type 98 Infantry/Panzer Lieutenant's Tunic with a Ribbon Bar

595.00

The tunic is made of an khaki green material often found in early war officer’s tunics. Used but still clean and without damage. The interior of the tunic shows some professional repairs, so obviously the tunic was worn on a daily basis by the original wearer. This tunic is complete with originally-sewn set of lieutenant’s collar tabs, a branch patch for infantry, a ribbon bar for “1931-1934 Manchurian Incident War Medal,” “Order of the Sacred Treasure,” “Order of the Rising Sun,” “China Incident War Medal,” and “Red Cross Membership Medal.” Additionally, on the left chest pocket flap, there is a finely hand-embroidered unit marking. (However, this type of unit marking is unidentifiable in most cases, as this was never permanent and was intended for counter-intelligence purposes.) Over the right breast pocket is a red wool badge in the form of a “sleeping” Z which is the branch color for Infantry or Panzer. On the interior lining, there is a name tag showing the original owner’s sir name “Shigematsu” (重松).

Super nice, named tunic with unit marking still intact is quite rare!!
