Riders Badge in Bronze, Lauer
Instituted in 1930 the German Horseman’s Badge was awarded in bronze, silver and gold.
Badge made of Tombak with a bronze color finish. Maker marked by “L. CHR. Lauer Nürnberg Berlin” and to the opposite side “Gesetzlich Geschütz” (protected by law). The badge is in good condition with a nice age patina all over and comes compete with intact hinge, pin and catch assembly.
Rather high prestige badge in war time Germany. Cavalry Soldiers often prefered to use the rider badge instead of the combat assault badge on the chest of their tunics!!
