Unterofizzier Hans-Joachim KUBA Medal, Document and Photo Grouping

Interesting grouping for Hans-Joachim KUBA veteran of both AFRIKA campaign and Eastern front. Kuba first served with Artillery Rgt 75 from 1940. In March 1941, his battalion was subordinated to Afrika and the 5th. Leichte Division. During the period in Afrika, Kuba fought with the division against the British, for example at the battle of Derna and Tobruk. 2’April 1941 Kuba was severely wounded by a shot in the stomach, most probably in the battle of Ajdabiya. After this Kuba was evacuated from Afrika back to a hosiptal in Germany, Augsburg. In October 1941 he was promoted to Gefreiter and send to his final unit Heeres Küsten Art Abt 708.  With that unit he took part in the fighting northern part of the eastern front.
