WWI Engraved Italian Silver Medal For Military Valor Awarded to Faconelli Diamante, 25 July 1915 during the second battle on the Isonzo front more exactly Polazzo. What makes this medal extra special is the very early award date since this was Italy’s first week’s at war! The medal is made of pure silver and comes with original ribbon band. The medal is very nicely engraved to the reverse to the awardee “Faconelli Diamante”, the award date and place of Battle is also engraved. The medal is in very good condition with minor signs of wear.
The medal comes housed in its original case of issue. Wood construction with red fux leather covering. Fold open with functional push button. Inside with satin cloth to the top and recess to the bottom to hold the medal in place. The case shows some chafe wear and is in overall good condition considering the age.
Scarce silver grade bravery medal and very nice to find, both engraved with sucha early date and also complete with case!!
