Heer Cavalry Leutnant's Light Weight Field Tunic 

Model M36, light weight, subtly ribbed, tan cotton construction summer/tropical field tunic. The tunic has a six button front closure, a bottle green collar two metal hook’s and eye’s positioned at the forward neckline. The tunic has two, pleated, patch, breast pockets and two, pleated hip pockets. All pockets with scalloped edged, button down flaps. The right breast has a Officer’s national eagle in silver bullion threads. The eagle is neatly hand sewn to the tunic. The tunic has sewn-in shoulder boards with golden yellow wool base with dull grey silver/aluminum russian braid. Unit number “4” and  a “S” to each, hand sewn and pinned in place. This is either for School or Cavalry rifle regiment “4”. Machine sewn to the collar is a pair of cavalry officer’s collar tabs. To the left chest is loops sewn for one award. The loops is broken but there is pin head sized holes, indicating this Leutnant did not care sewing new loops but instead just pinned his award in place through the cloth. To the second button hole is a Iron Cross second class ribbon hand sewn in place. Interior is partly lined in silver/grey cotton.

The tunic shows signs of real use and is clearly sun faded. Insignias is without a doubt original to the tunic and both collar tabs and shoulder boards shows some fraying. No holes, rips or mendings, just signs of honest use for a longer duration of time.

Un-touched light weight tunic, with a very nice appearance!!
