Imperial Japanese Naval Landing Forces Officer's Forage Cap

White canvas construction forage cap. Standard EM/NCO’s naval landing forces insignia is machine sewn to the cap. Two horizontal black bands are sewn around the edge of the cap in its entire circumference, signifying the rank of Officer. White canvas chin strap is complete with its two adjustment loops. The short, unstiffened visor is also made of the same material as the body. Two metal eyelets are on either side of a slit to the reverse, where an white tie string is looped between them for size adjustment. The interior of the cap is lined with light, thin cotton cloth. Its sweatband, in the same material as the cap. This cap is unissued but shows some age from having been made over 80 years ago. Cap size is about 56,5 – 57.
