The Infantry Assault Badge in silver was introduced on December 20th 1939 by Generaloberst Walther von Brauchitsch for award to Officers and EM/NCO’s of non-motorized Infantry and Mountain Infantry units. Criteria for bestowal of the badge varied, with the main qualification being participation in three separate Infantry assaults. This is a mid-war, die struck high quality Zinc badge. The badge is complete with crimped in hinge, catch and pin. The badge is in very good condition with about 90% of the original silver paint wash still intact.
