Waffen-SS Officer's Visor Cap

The cap is constructed of field-grey gabardine cloth. Black satin centerband and white wool piping to the top of the crown edge and both the top and bottom edges of the centerband. Cap original had a metal cap skull and metal eagle, both of which have been removed.  The cap has a twisted silver/aluminum chin cord which is secured in place by two, silver washed, pebbled buttons. The cap has a extended, forward, black lacquered, vulcanfibre visor with a subtly raised lip near the forward edge and an orangish/ tan bottom. The interior of the cap is fully lined with golden-yellow rayon lining. The interior of the cap also has a leather sweatband which is all complete (one small tear). Cap is size marked “54”, this font was only used by the firm “Clems Wagner”, so it’s safe to say Clemens Wagner produced this cap. Judging from the materials used this cap was made in the later stages of WWII. The cap is in very good, still little used condition. Outside with minor color fading and dirt, inside shows some light water / sweat stains. The cap is also in a very nice shape.
