Heer EM/NCO's M43 Field Cap

Field-grey wool construction cap features fold down back and side panels with two grey painted pebbled metal button front closure. The back and side panels were designed to be folded down to protect the wearers ears and neck and the scalloped front section could be secured with the buttons closed under the wearers chin. The front center of the cap has a machine woven M43 style national eagle factory machine sewn in place. The cap has an extended, cloth covered, forward visor with an internal stiffener with a subtly raised lip to the top of the forward edge and a single row of reinforcement stitching to the bottom of the forward edge. The interior of the cap is fully lined in silver/grey rayon. The lining is faintly marked with a black ink a RBNr. Now unfortunately impossible to read because of use.

The cap shows clear signs of real use with dirt to all exposed parts and stains from real use to the lining. No holes, tears or mendings.
