Imperial Japanese Army Tank or Mechanics Work Over Trousers

€265.00

Work coveralls as used by Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) and tank crews during the Second World War. The official Japanese designation for this garment is “Daini-shu Sagyou-iko (第二種作業衣袴), vilket fritt översatt betyder Arbetskläder Typ 2.”. Made from heavy-duty olive-green or khaki-colored cotton canvas. The fabric was designed for durability, protecting tank crew members from dirt, oil, and mechanical wear and tear. Intended to be worn directly over the standard field uniform. Featuring buttons along the sides and shoulder straps allows for quick donning and removal. One characteristic asymmetrical chest pocket on the left side, as well as two spacious thigh pockets with buttoned flaps. With circular, reinforced fabric patches over the knees to withstand work performed in a kneeling position. Drawstrings and ties at the leg openings, allowing the trouser cuffs to be secured tightly around the ankles or boots. In very good condition with only light signs of age and use.
