DLRG Member’s Sports Shirt Insignia
The DLRG, Deutschen Lebensrettungsgesellschaft, (German Live Saving Association) was originally established in 1913 as an independent organization of the German Swimming League. The mandate of the DLRG was to instruct the German public in water safety and water related life saving skills and techniques. All DLRG personnel wore the organizational emblem on their sports shirts as identifying insignia.
Oval, white rayon base badge features a machine woven stylized eagle in black threads perched on a green mound overlooking blue “waves”, with “DLRG”, in green threads. The badge is removed from a shirt with light signs of age and use.
