Luftwaffe Flak Oberleutnant's Tropical Field Tunic 

Light weight, subtly ribbed, tan cotton construction tropical field tunic features a six button front closure with small, fold back lapels, a lay down collar and a single metal hook and eye positioned at the forward neckline. The field blouse has two, pleated, patch, breast pockets and two, non-pleated, hip pockets. All pockets with straight edged, button down flaps. The right breast has a rare and very nice second pattern, Luftwaffe eagle in silvery/white bullion threads mounted cut-out, light tan cotton base. The eagle is machine sewn to the tunic. The tunic has a set of three stitched eyelets positioned at each side seam at the waistline for the belt support hooks and both of the tan painted belt support hooks are intact. The tunic has slip on shoulder straps red wool base with bright silver/aluminum russian braid. Hand sewn to the collar is a pair of Luftwaffe flak oberleutnant’s collar tabs. To the right chest is award loops sewn for three awards and a Iron Cross second class ribbbon is hand sewn to the third button hole (correct since the first button hole is hidden under the fold back lapel).

The unlined interior has small, tan cotton reinforcement panels to the shoulder panels, the armpit openings and down the side seams. The lower right, front has the field dressing pocket still intact. The interior left breast is well marked with black, size inkstamps and the manufacturer’s name and location. The tunic is in very good condition with a couple of smaller stains, no holes, rips or mendings.
