Heer Gebirgsjäger Rgt 98 Oberleutnant's M36 Tunic

High quality, tailor made field-grey cloth tunic with dark-green cloth collar. The tunic features a six button front closure with dual metal hook and eye’s at the neck. The tunic has four pleated front pockets with scalloped button down flaps. Officer collar tab’s, dark-green cloth with green rayon center stripes and silver/aluminum embroidery, machine sewn in place. Sew-in shoulder boards with russian braid on green wool backing. Pinned in place to each board is unit numbers “98” as well as a singel gilt rank pip. Above right breast pocket is a officer’s national eagle in bright silver bullion threads on dark green rayon backing. The eagle is neatly hand sewn in place. To the right upper sleeve is a officer’s edelweiss insignia in silver and golden bullion on green cloth backing. The edelweiss is hand sewn in place. To and under the left chest pocket is award loops sewn for three awards. Above the same pocket is award loops sewn for a longer ribbon bar or a close combat clasp. Hand sewn to the second button hole is a East front medal and Iron Cross Second class 1939 ribbon hand sewn in place. The tunic is lined with green rayon and Pyjama striped rayon in sleeves.

The tunic shows light signs of age and real use. The edelweiss shows some moth bites, see pictures. Inside with some light sweat stains. No visable holes or mendings. Insignias match the tunic perfectly and is original to the tunic.
