Heer Infantry EM/NCO's M34 Overseas Cap

Sturdy field-grey wool construction cap with fold down side and back panels. As is typical the fold down panels are hand-stitched in the upright position at the front center of the cap. The front center of the cap has a machine woven, national eagle in grey threads on a cut-out woven, dark-green rayon base. The eagle is neatly handstitched to the cap. The front center of the fold down panels has a machine woven, national cockade on a woven, diamond shaped, rayon base. The cockade is machine sewn to the cap. The cap has a white rayon inverted “V” soutache indicating service in a infantry unit. The soutache has been applied in the correct manner, being machine stitched in place and inserted through two, small, puncture holes near the bottom edge of the cap.

The cap has a natural ferrous metal ventilation grommet to either side. The interior of the cap is fully lined in grey drill cotton cloth. Lining is stamped with maker mark stamp and size “55 1/2”.  The cap is in very good but still used condition. There is some light moth tracking to exposed parts. Inside shows the typicall sweat / hairproduct staining line where the forehead area and to the contact points of the cap. No holes, rips or mendings.

High quality issue cap which has seen some use, still in very good condition!!
