Heer Infantry Obergefreiter's First Pattern Tropical Tunic

Light weight, ribbed khaki colored cotton twill construction. The tunic features five button front closure with small, opened, fold back, peak lapels and a lay down collar. The field blouse has four pleated front pockets with scalloped edged, button down flaps. Collar tabs are machine sewn in place. EM/NCO’s national eagle original applied with machine sewn top, folded down to create an invisable seam the rest is hand sewn (100% correct method for the period and what we like to see with a first pattern tropical tunic like this!). To the shoulders is a matching rare pair of Tropical shoulder straps with white rayon piping for infantry branch of service buttoned in place. To the upper left sleeve is a tropical rank chevron neatly machine and hand sewn in place. To the second button hole is the ribbon for a Iron Cross 2’class hand sewn in place. There is also loops sewn to the left breast pocket for one award.

 

Inside with medical pocket and clear size markings with year of manufacturing 1942. Buttons are originals and have the original s-rings. Even some of the original factory tag attachment thread remain. The tunic is in very good condition with no stains, rips or mendings. There is only minor signs of age and wear.

 

Very desirable first pattern tunic with rare infantry shoulder straps!!
