Heer M40 Combat Helmet With Camouflage Wire

Stamped, sheet steel construction helmet retains most of its rough original, over-paint in matte-grey paint. The left side of the helmet shows outlines of a Heer decal. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. A thin wire for camouflage foliage is attached to the helmet. The interior of the helmet has an excellent M31 leather liner. The reverse, interior, neck guard apron is serial/lot number stamped, “5453” and the interior, left side, apron has the stamped manufacturer’s code and size: “N.S 62”. Complete with original chinstrap. The helmet is named both to the inside neck guard “Schlz Grobosch 2” in yellow paint and also to the leather liner “Grobosch” in black ink. The helmet shows clear signs of age and use, no damage though.
