Heer Pioneer EM/NCO'S M34 Overseas Cap, Produced 1940 By Clemens Wagner
€695.00
Field-grey wool construction cap with fold down side and back panels. As is typical the fold down panels are hand-stitched in the upright position at the front center of the cap. The front center of the cap has a machine woven, national eagle in grey threads on a cut-out woven, field-grey rayon base. The eagle is neatly handstitched to the cap. The front center of the fold down panels has a machine woven, national cockade on a woven, diamond shaped, dark-green rayon base. The cockade is also neatly hand sewn to the cap. The cap has a black rayon inverted “V” soutache indicating service in a “pioneer” unit. The soutache has been applied in the correct manner, being machine stitched in place and inserted through two, small, puncture holes near the bottom edge of the cap.
The cap has a field grey enamel painted metal ventilation grommet to either side. The interior of the cap is fully lined in grey, brushed drill cotton cloth. Lining is clearly stamped with maker mark stamp it reads: “Clemens Wagner JUL 40 Braunschweig” Below the stamp is a size stamp “61”.
The cap is in good, still used condition with nap wear and age toning to all exposed parts. Lining show sweat stains especially to the lower sides and to the front where the forhead rests, as we like to see!. Left side has one hole approx 0,4cm x 0,4cm. And right side shows some minor red stains. See pictures!
Close to impossible to find a cap in this size, it also has a very nice maker mark stamp with manufacturing date!!
