Heer / Waffen-SS Panzer Assault Badge in Silver, Maker Marked R.S.S

The Panzer Assault Badge in silver was instituted by Generaloberst Walther von Brauchitsch on December 20th 1939 for award to all ranks of tank personnel who served as a tank commander, driver, gunner or radio operator and had been involved in three different armored assaults on three different days.

This is a panzer assault badge in silver, zinc, hollow back construction. Complete with original hinge, pin and catch assembly. A portion of the original silver paint is still intact. Reverse is maker marked “R.S.S.” in high relief for “Rudolf Richter”.
