Kriegsmarine Engineering Oberleutnant's Tropical Service 

1940 pattern, mid weight, tan, cotton construction tunic. Four button front closure with small fold back lapels and a lay down collar. The tunic has four pleated, patch, front pockets with scalloped button down flaps. The right breast has three thread loops for securing a removable breast eagle. The tunic comes with a removable, gilt washed, alloy construction national eagle. The left breast has holes after one award. Above the left chest is a 2 place ribbon bar pinned in place, the ribbon bar comes with the tunic. The tunic has “pass-through” shoulder boards in bright, silver/aluminum Russian braid with a single gilt rank pip to each and a Engineering cypher all mounted on dark navy blue wool bases. The lay down collar has no collar tabs as per regulations. The buttons appears to be replaced of the “S-Ring” type. The tunic shows clear signs of real use with color fading from sun exposure, sweat stains and the lower left sleeve has a couple of larger stains and holes, see pictures. The holes are luckily located to the back of the sleeve.

Tropical KM tunics are pretty hard to find and even more so a real used one as this example!!
