Luftwaffe EM/NCO's M43 Field Cap

Luftwaffe blue/grey, wool construction cap, features fold down side and back panels with a scalloped front with a two button closure at the front center. The back and side panels were designed to be folded down to protect the wearers ears and neck and the scalloped front section could be secured with the buttons closed under the wearers chin. The front center of the cap has a machine embroidered, second pattern Luftwaffe eagle in silvery/grey threads and a separate machine embroidered national tri-color cockade in black, red and white. Both insignias are neatly hand sewn to the cap. The interior of the cap is fully lined in silver/grey rayon. Inside is well stamped with year of production “1944”, RBNR and size “56” which is the correct size of the cap. The cap is in very good condition with light signs of age and real use.
