Luftwaffe Fallschirm-Panzer Division Hermann Göring EM/NCO’s M43 Field Cap

Hermann Göring panzer/fallschirm division EM/NCO’s M43 field cap, constructed of black wool. Fold-down side panels, scalloped toward the front, providing optional ear and neck protection to the wearer.  Front closed with a two black painted metal buttons. Machine sewn to the front of the cap is a machine-embroidered silver-grey second pattern Luftwaffe eagle on black backing cloth. Directly below the eagle is a tri-colour cockade on black cloth. The cockade is neatly hand sewn in place. The interior of the cap is lined with blue/silver/grey colored HBT rayon. The lining is stamped with black ink: “1944”, a Reichsbetriebsnummer (RBNr.) 0/0501/0015 and a manufacture date “1944”. The stamps are weak and pretty hard to read. Both the interior and exterior wool shows some soiling consistent with field use, but the cap shows no holes, tears or mendings.

Rare cap in a desirable field used condition, still without damage!!
