Luftwaffe Officer's Visor Cap, Maker Marked Clemens Wagner

Luftwaffe blue/grey wool construction visor cap with a very subtle, whipcord weave features a black, ribbed, mohair centerband, and bright, interwoven silver/aluminum piping to the crown edge and both the top and bottom edges of the centerband. The front center of the cap has a hand embroidered, second pattern Luftwaffe eagle in bright silver/aluminum wire threads with bright silver/aluminum bullion accent threads on a cut-out, Luftwaffe blue/grey wool base. The eagle is neatly handstitched to the cap. The front center of the centerband has a hand embroidered, winged, oak-leaf wreath in silver/aluminum wire threads, encompassing a hand embroidered national tri-color cockade. The winged wreath and cockade are mounted on a cut-out black wool base which is also neatly hand sewn in place. The cap has a twisted, silver/aluminum, braid chin cord which is secured to the cap by two, silver washed, pebbled alloy buttons. The cap has an extended, forward, black lacquered, vulcanfibre visor. The interior of the cap is fully lined in silver/grey rayon. Original sweat shield is complete and maker marked “CW” for “Clemens Wagner”. Original leather sweat band is all intact. The front part of the sweat band was war time sewn back in place with a couple of threads. The cap is in very good shape with a clean and damage free exterior. Inside shows clear signs of real use with sweat stains, wear signs to the sweat band and the previous mention extra stitches to hold the sweat band in place. Size is about 58.

All in all a very nice Luftwaffe officers visor cap in good but still well used condition!!
