Named Kriegsmarine EM/NCO's Side Cap
€475.00
The Kriegsmarine overseas cap was originally introduced on November 10th 1938. On October 7th 1939 the cap underwent minor modifications and became a regular issue item for wear by all personnel both on and off ship for the duration of the war.
1939 pattern cap, produced of blue wool with fold down side and back panels. The front center of the cap has a machine woven national eagle in golden yellow threads on a navy blue, rayon base. The front center of the fold down panels has a machine woven national tri-color cockade, on a woven, navy blue, rayon diamond shaped base. The eagle was hand sewn in place and the cockarde machine sewn, both original to the cap. The interior of the cap is fully lined in light weight black cotton. Inside with original name tag sewn in place. The cap also has a blue/black rayon chin strap sewn in place. A clever solution to keep the cap in place during a stormy night at sea. The cap is in good condition with light signs of age and use. No holes, rips or mendings.
Nice untouched cap!!
