Police NCO's Singel Button M43 Field Cap

Police green wool construction cap features fold down back and side panels and one beige/grey closure button to the front center which indicates later war production. The back and side panels were designed to be folded down to protect the wearers ears and neck and the scalloped front section could be secured with the buttons closed under the wearers chin. The front center of the cap has woven cockade and a police eagle in silver/white rayon threads on black rayon base. Eagle is original machine sewn to the cap. The cap has an extended, cloth covered visor with a subtly raised lip to the top of the forward edge. The interior of the cap is fully lined in silver/grey rayon. The cap shows nap wear and age / use fading to all expostparts. Inside lining in good, still used condition with some sweat/grease soiling. Inside is marked with size “58”. All in all a used cap in still good condition.
