US WWII 8th USAAF Staff Seargeant's Tunic And Trousers

A fully-lined, olive drab wool waist-length tunic with integral shoulder straps buttoned in place. There are pleated patch pockets to each breast. From the left waistband is a tab, with a brass snap at its end, which mates with a snap stud to the base of the right side of the front closure. All buttons appear to have their original stitching. Two collar dogs are present as well to each collar point; one being “U.S.” while the other represents the USAAF. A “ruptured duck” for honourable discharge is sewn above the right breast pocket. On the right arm, stitched below the shoulder is the 8th USAAF shoulder flash atop a Staff Sergeant rank insignia, which is also present to the left sleeve. To the left sleeve is a US air force shoulder flash. Above the right cuff is the insignia for Engineering Specialist, while the left cuff has a two year’s overseas bars and a good conduct stripe. The makers tag is sewn inside the right interior pocket with the size and dated 1944. Above the left breast pocket is a ribbon bar with following awards: Good conduct, European Theater of war with 4 battle stars and American campaign. The tunic is in very good condition with minor signs of age and use.
The tunic comes with a matching pair of period trousers, made of dark, olive drab cotton/rayon, straight-legged service trousers. The trousers is in very good condition.
