WWII Named RAF Flight Officer's Tunic

RAF three-quarter length, four button RAF service tunic with lay down collar and open neck lapels. There are two pleated patch breast pockets with scalloped button-down flaps, and saddlebag hip pockets with straight-edged, button-down flaps. Each cuff bears the rank insignia for Flight Officer. The small brass buttons to the pockets and the larger ones to the front closure are each embossed with an eagle surmounted by a King’s crown. An embroidered RAF pilot’s wing is sewn above the left pocket. The tunic belt is affixed to the rear panel, allowing the brass, square, double prong buckle and corresponding end to hang loose. The interior is fully lined. Manufacture tag for still intact. To the interior of the breast pocket is a name tag with a hand written name and rank as well as date: “23-4-45”. The tunic is in very good condition with light signs of age and wear. There is a couple of small moth holes located to the back as well as a hole to the left elbow, the hole is approx 3-4cm.
