East Front Medal And Award Document

The Russian Front Medal was instituted by Adolf Hitler on May 26th 1942 to commemorate the first winter campaign in Russia. The award was available to all Wehrmacht personnel, civilians and foreign volunteers who met the required criteria with the main qualification being at least fourteen days of participation in combat on the Russian front between November 15th 1941 and April 15th 1942.

 

Complete set with award document and medal. The award document is the preliminary one. Awarded to Obergefreiter Borzke serving in Infantry rgt 462. Document was signed at te stab 1.9.42. The document is in good condition, one fold to the middle and no puncture holes. Light age toning and yellowing. The document comes with the actuall medal. The medal is constructed of die struck Zinc and comes complete with intact suspension ring and ribbed, rayon ribbon. The medal is in good condition and retains most of it’s original grey and silver paint wash.
