Heer Nebelwerfer Officer's m38 Overseas Cap 

High quality, private purchase M38 pattern, field-grey tricot cloth construction cap. With fold down side and back panels with scalloped slopes to the forward side panels. The crown edge and the forward scalloped side panels are both piped in bright silver/aluminum braiding. The cap has a Zinc metal ventilation grommet to each side. The front center of the cap has a machine woven national eagle in silver/aluminum flat-wire threads on a cut-out, woven field-grey rayon base. The eagle is neatly hand sewn to the cap. Bullion wire tri-color cockade. The cockade is flanked by a nebelwerfer “burgundy” red rayon branch color soutache. The soutache is applied in the proper manner being machine stitched in place and inserted through small puncture holes at the seam near the bottom edge of the cap. Inside is lined with greyrayon. The cap is clearly size stamped “57 1/2” in black ink. The cap is also maker mark stamped. To the front is a grey colored sweatband machine sewn in place. The cap shows even wear all over, no holes, rips tears or mendings.
