Luftwaffe Panzer Division Hermann Göring EM/NCO’s M43 Field Cap

The cap is constructed of high quality black wool. Fold-down side panels, scalloped at the front, offering optional ear and neck protection to the wearer. The panels are secured in place with a single bakelite button. The cap has an extended, cloth covered, forward visor with an internal stiffener with a subtly raised lip to the top of the forward edge and a single row of reinforcement stitching to the bottom of the forward edge. Machine sewn to the front peak of the cap is a second pattern Luftwaffe, second pattern national eagle in silver grey threads on black cloth. Directly underneath the eagle is a machine-embroidered cockade on black rayon. The cockade is machine sewn in place. Inside is fully lined with blue-grey “fishbone” rayon. Inside has a very faint rbnr stamp in black ink. Size is about 57. The cap shows clear signs of real use with sweat stains to the lining, wear marks and one small hole, see pictures. Outside is rather clean with some build-up storage and wear dirt. No holes, tears or mendings.
