Luftwaffe General's M43 Field Cap

High quality Luftwaffe blue/grey wool cap, features fold down side and back panels with a scalloped front with a gilt, pebbled metal button closure at the front center. The back and side panels were designed to be folded down to protect the wearers ears and neck and the scalloped front section could be secured with the buttons closed under the wearers chin. The top crown edge is piped in interwoven golden cord. The front center of the cap has a hand embroidered, second pattern, Luftwaffe eagle in golden bullion threads with accent threads on a cut-out blue/grey wool base. The eagle is neatly hand sewn to the cap. Below the eagle is a Luftwaffe generals metal/wire cockade with gilt wire all arround. The interior of the cap is fully lined in beige/brown rayon. The cap shows signs of age and real use with a nice consistent age patina all over, including the insignias. No holes, rips or mendigns.
