Allgemeine SS-SD "Alter Kämpfer" Obersturmführer's Tunic

High quality, private purchase black wool tunic. Four button front closure with small, folded back, lapels and a lay down collar with officers twisted cord. The tunic has two pleated patch, breast pockets and two slash hip pockets, all with scalloped button down flaps. To the right shoulder is a singel shoulder board sewn and buttoned in place. The left hand collar patch is blank which means this Obersturmführer served in the “Sicherheitsdienst” (Security Service). The left rank collar tab has three silver washed rank collar pips pinned in place and one rank bar stripe. To the upper left sleeve is a high quality multi piece constructed Allgemeine-SS armband neatly hand sewn in place. Below the armband is an officer’s “SD” insignia diamond with “SD” letters hand embroidered in silver/aluminum threads. On the lower left sleeve is a blank cuff title (with seven strands). To the right sleeve is an old fighters chevron hand sewn in place. (The Honour Chevron for the Old Guard “Ehrenwinkel der Alten Kämpfer” was a Nazi Party decoration worn by members of the SS. All members of the SS who had joined the Allgemeine-SS, the NSDAP, or any other party organisation prior to 30 January 1933, were entitled to wear the insignia). All insignia is neatly, period hand sewn in place. To the left chest pocket is award loops sewn for one award and above the same pocket is loops sewn for a 4-5 place ribbon bar. Reverse with intact dual belt support buttons.
Inside is lined with black, fine cotton and sleeves are lined with white colored silk. Inside neck with a removed tailors label. The tunic shows a very nice used but not abused wear. No holes, rips or mendings. A couple of smaller stains with consistent wear and light nap wear to all exposed parts. Inside, especially the white sleeves shows some light stains from real use.
