Cased Japanese Navy Officer's Visor Hat in Excellent Condition

A standard Navy officer’s visor cap complete with its original storage case.
The cap is beautiful and its fine-quality doeskin wool is without a moth hole. It is slightly used and the leather sweat band
Only shows small signs of wear. The black wool center band surrounding the crown has minor scuffs and the black lacquered
visor has some storage wear on the surface. The chinstrap is intact and in working order. The intricate gilt embroidered wreath
as well as the central guilt anchor are firmly attached to the front and in a perfect shape. The silk lining is clean and
its original purple hue is still vivid. The original owner’s name “Tsuneo Oka” (岡 恒夫)is hand written on the name tag sewn
on the silk lining. The same sir name “Oka” (岡)appears in two places on the side of the storage case. The storage case is
is age-toned, and is made of heavy cardboard and waterproof canvas with a couple of leather strips at the edges for reinforcement.
A leather flap with a snap button that keeps the lid closed is missing but, still, this sturdy case can keep the hat
securely with no problem.

 

A fine-conditioned hat with its original case is quite rare!!
