Early Allgemeine-SS Tunic, Rottenführer Serving in Standarte 2 Germania

11,995.00

Tunic is constructed with nice smooth black wool, it features a collar fully trimmed with twisted and rolled silver aluminum wire and black cord piping. The same piping is also used on the collar tab for the rank of SS-Rottenführer and on the bullion wire SS tab with number of the Standarte “2”. Both the tabs are nicely hand sewn to the collar.

The single shoulder board, on the right shoulder, is the correct two-toned silver/black period type for the rank of SS-Mann to Hauptscharführer. To the reverse of the shoulder board is the original SS RzM label. On the left sleeve tunic has a high quality wool, multi piece contructed, SS armband stitched in place. The tunic closes with four slightly pebbled, silvered metal buttons. The reverse of the tunic features dual pebbled, silvered, metal belt hooks one is RzM marked and the other is marked “M.W.” and one additional belt hook (one missing). The left sleeve bears a bullion SS-Germania cuff title. The cufftitle is hand sewn in place. One set of award loops is on left breast pocket. Pinned in place is a SA sports badge in silver, the badge comes with the tunic.

The interior is fully lined with black HBT cloth. There is a single interior pocket. Sleeves are lined with white, striped rayon fabric. The inside left lapel is stamped with white ink with an early SS Germania stamp. Also inside with a couple of hard to read stamps for danish theater property.

This tunic was discovered in an old danish theater and bought without insignias (later restored). Buttons are all replaced to a non standard type. Rank stripes on rank tab are not the standard type but looks old and most likely original to the tab. The tunic shows clear signs of real use, especially to the inside. There are a couple of smaller mendings and larger stains (to the inside). The sleeve lining has a couple of smaller holes and has un-done stitching to several places. The tunic was most likely used by Danish SS and somebody restored it back to Germania since it had an early Germania stamp inside.

Restored or not, this is an amazing piece of history, only very seldom offered on market!!
