Erbhof Metal Sign

Rare original cast iron Reichsnährstand “Erbhof” sign (Erbhof-Erkennungszeichen). According to the “Reichserbhofgesetz” of September 29. 1933. an Aryan farm could only be passed on to the eldest son if he could prove his Aryan origins dating back to at least 1800. These signs hung at the farm designated as an “Erbhof” between 1933 and 1945. After the war, the signs were removed and, in many cases, destroyed. The cast iron sign depicts the Odal Rune; the sign measures 24.5 x 19.5 cm. The sign is in good condition with some surface rust.
