German Cross Gold Grade, Heavy Version by Deschler & Sohn of München

The cross consisting of a double-overlaid sunburst pattern with eight points the center with a black enameled rotated swastika within a stamped gilded wreath impressed with oak leaves, ribbons, and the introduction year “1941”. The inner and outer sides of the wreath feature a thin red enameled rings with a silver core in the middle. The reverse plain has a broad pinback with a functional barrel hinge and a thick catch marked “1” for Deschler on the reverse. weight is 67g. The cross shows a fair amount of real use with paint loss and wear marks to exposed parts. There is also a chip in the enamel. Reverse shows a nice patina.
